Job Description


Telecommunications Specialist responsibilities\xc2\xb7 Installation of Network cabling (CAT) and associated hardware. Including, but not limited to -IT Racking, Routers, Network switching, Wifi, Patch panels, Battery backups, Alarm systems, Access Control systems, Camera systems, White noise systems & Conference Room Systems.

  • Cable Management of all the above items as needed.
  • Terminating Fiber optic cabling is a plus but is not required.
  • Use power tools to create and modify cable paths.
  • Willingness to work evenings & weekends as required.
  • Ability to carry heavy loads as needed.
  • Carry and climb ladders as needed.
  • Maintain a safety conscious work environment.
  • Tests and troubleshoots problems with structured cabling systems.
  • Assists with computer moves and other large computer related projects.
The Telecommunications Specialist is responsible for the following:
  • Demonstrate initiative & Independent judgment.
  • Ability to work under high pressure situations, adapt to rapidly changing work environments & utilize established company procedures to address client needs.
  • Ability to work off hours and participate in on-call as needed.
  • Ability to go on-site for installations; interact with clients in a professional manner.
  • Ability to be a trusted advisor to clients; effectively relay information to non-technical clients in a confident, reassuring, and patient manner.
  • Ability to manage competing demands and deal with frequent change(s), delays, or unexpected events.
  • Ability to lift over 50 lbs.
  • Basic cabling skills, power tool use and safety practices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and detect issues quickly.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with supervisor and coworkers.
  • Possess a valid driver\'s license.
Educational/experience requirements include:
  • High School graduate
  • Low voltage License (Preferred, but not required)
  • Previous Electrical or Low Voltage cabling knowledge
  • 1+ years of network/telecom cabling installation
