All nursing practice is based on the legal scope of practice, national and specialty nursing standards, Children\'s National Policies and Procedures, and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. The Professional Model of Care requires registered professional nurses to be responsible and accountable for their own practice. Children\'s National supports the development of RN relationships within the community; specifically those relationships associated with the health and well being of the community at large. The nurse provides telephonic clinical assessment, advice, health education and counseling giving appropriate clinical disposition and facilitating referral. The nurse engaging in telenursing practice assesses, plans, intervenes, and evaluates the outcomes of nursing care, using technologies such as the Internet, computers, telephones, digital assessment tools, and telemonitoring equipment.QualificationsMinimum Education

The licensed Registered Nurse will successfully complete the hospital and nursing orientation at Children\xe2\x80\x99s National.
Have basic computer skills (Experience with Microsoft\xc2\xae Windows operating system database and word processing software required -such as 30 wpm ).
Ability to handle multiple line phone.

Demonstrate effective prescription management skills.
Application of the nursing process in telehealth care.
Delivery of culturally sensitive, age-specific care to identified populations.

Demonstration of problem-solving, prioritization, collaboration, and customer relation skills.
