PART TIMEGENERAL SUMMARY:To monitor noninvasive cardiac activity and other clinical parameters of patient populations ranging from adolescence to geriatric by continuous electrocardiographic display and pulse oximetry. The technician is responsible for the interpretation the patient\xe2\x80\x99s cardiac rhythm and preforms critical alarm hand off with the nursing unit appropriately. The technician also maintains data related to the monitoring and provides daily reports for the patient\'s permanent medical record via electronic shift report directly into EMR.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:1. Telemetry Technician- Monitors cardiac rhythms and pulse oximetry, reviews history alarms, scans 24-hour data, and performs arrhythmia analysis.2. Interpretation, measurements and documentation of cardiac rhythm strips, maintaining two-hour rate and rhythm documentation, providing 24-hour reports and discharge summaries via eDoc shift report to the patient\xe2\x80\x99s medical record.3. Direct, immediate communication with the patient\xe2\x80\x99s nurse regarding changes in the patient\'s rhythm status including the ability to recognize life-threatening arrhythmias. Providing critical alarm hand off to appropriate nurse.4. Communication with unit to verify proper patient identification, correct telemetry box number, and correct unit location for patient safety5. Record box placement, maintain renewals, ASO and discharges in EMR. Providing Access Center with unit availability.6. Ensuring communication staff assignments are complete for all units at all sites. Providing real time feedback to units to complete assignments.7. • High School education.
• Certified Cardiovascular Technician School or comparable certification preferred.
• The technician must have excellent knowledge of advanced ECG interpretation demonstrated by an arrhythmia skills validation given by the department. Excellent written and verbal communication and report generating skill are necessary.

Work Experience:

• Previous Holter scanning, paramedic, nurse technician, stress testing or telemetry experience would be preferred.
• Previous work as an EKG technician, medical assistant, emergency Technician, nursing assistant.

Certification, Licensure, Registration:

• CRAT- Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician, preferable but not required.

• Must be able to maintain composure during stressful situations.
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in teams.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Requires a high level of adaptation to multiple technologies simultaneously, must be able to multitask in high stress situations.
