To sell and promote Versatile products. Initiate dealer calls, address any client questions and/or concerns, demonstrate Versatile products, and manage all aspects of Versatile business for a territory. Stay informed about new and existing products, monitor sales, prices, and products of competition. Liaison between all dealership departments and Versatile. Listen to dealership concerns and resolve issues as they come up.
Territory covers Indiana to Maine, south to Florida, to Alabama and then north to Kentucky.
Expectation is that each dealer is visited once per month.
Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Represent Versatile to customers and prospects in the assigned region.
Responsible and accountable for achieving sales goals and growth objectives.
Forecasting sales and working towards meeting those goals on an annual basis.
Identify customer needs including accurate selection of products, pricing, and promotions.
Introduce new products and demonstrate features and uses.
Prospect and identify open territory and work to fill these locations with qualified and committed dealers to grow the business today and into the future.
Utilize Versatile product specialists and product managers to introduce new lines or demonstrate the effectiveness of existing products and services.
Liaison between dealer, service and parts departments for any possible issues.
Ensure dealer accounts are up to date (be vigilant of a dealers financial situation and any changes that may have a negative impact in the future).
Complete inventory audits and financial assessments as required.
Attend meetings and on farm visits with end-users or potential ones with the dealer.
Assess the ability of the dealer to support the product and the customer through the parts / service and sales departments.
Assess the dealers market potential and ensure the proper product is on hand / on order to support this potential and update management on changing market trends and opportunities.
Conduct or ensure product training is attended from a sales and service perspective.
Attend (and assist in organization of) open houses and trade shows to provide product knowledge and represent the company and product (corporate & dealer sponsored).
Be knowledgeable of the competitors product and programs to be sure we are competitive in the marketplace - as well to be able to council the dealers sales people in comparing \'apples to apples\' when quoting against the competition
Ensure that Versatile literature and promotional items are displayed in the dealership
Follow up on orders to ensure timely shipping and availability
Schedule dealer visits in advance, and send in call reports every time a dealer is called on
Service customers in an economical and systematic order of rotation
Attend Versatile sales meetings, and internal product training
Represent the company - product and brand - in a positive and professional manner at all times
Qualifications:
University/College degree or diploma in Business Administration or Marketing, or a related field
Previous agricultural equipment sales experience at a retail or wholesale level required
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong interpersonal skills
Proven negotiation ability
Working knowledge of agriculture and agricultural equipment an asset
Mechanical/technical aptitude is a definite asset
Strong analytical skills, computer literacy and excellent presentation skills
