Primary Function of Position:

Drives achievement of team performance goals towards weekly and quarterly production targets for Tissue Harvesting operations; Creates and executes tissue harvesting strategy between all slaughterhouses to meet desired quantity, quality and cost goals; Drives continuous improvement initiatives focused on clearing barriers, improving clarity, increasing predictability and efficiency within the Tissue Harvest operation; Manages direct reports to ensure adherence to prescribed guidelines and supports career development. Shift Hours: 6 AM -3 PM

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Hires, trains, develops, and motivates production personnel to follow procedures, meet high quality standards, production schedules and productivity requirements
  • Meets weekly and quarterly production goals set forth per SIOP; Allocates personal time for individual contribution in tissue harvesting to help with team achievement
  • Manages transport of materials from harvest sites to manufacturing facility- meeting cost and quality requirements set forth by the business
  • Champions the spec requirements and quality needs to ensure adherence to the requirements
  • Monitors team\'s performance in safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency and takes appropriate actions to improve.
  • Gains proficiency in tissue harvest processes/tissue specs, ability to perform these activities to support harvest goals, flexes in to fill gaps.
  • Regularly visits and monitors quality output at all tissue harvest sites - both staffed with Intuitive personnel and direct tissue suppliers.
  • Manages and monitors tissue harvest/procurement KPIs and takes actions to correct trends
  • Works closely with Supplier Engineer, Planning and Purchasing teams to address challenges and mitigate tissue supply chain risks.
  • Manages production capacity with respect to the demand and escalate gaps to management as necessary
  • Addresses line support issues as they arise, including tissue-based and technical-related issues
  • Proactively identifies and acts upon barriers affecting tissue harvest work streams
  • Applies basic anatomy knowledge and end user product interaction understanding to appropriately address tissue harvest challenges
  • Identifies strengths and opportunities within the team to leverage those for better team performance. Recognizes and awards outstanding performance.
  • Identifies conflict and understands appropriate handling and escalation. Recognizes early warnings and mitigates conflict.
  • Leads cross functional projects, set goals, influences and drives the meetings.
  • Demonstrates ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives on tissue harvest lines.
  • Works with Training department to ensure team training is up to date and effectiveness is monitored.
  • Provides tissue harvest personnel with expectations and performance feedback bi-yearly and during team stand ups
  • Writes and conducts formal annual performance reviews for production personnel
  • Enforces strict adherence to the applicable DOPs and SOPs of the Quality System
  • Learns and enforces company safety policies and practices and develop safety project initiatives and line risk assessments
  • Leads or supports various Lean Manufacturing initiatives that involve a tissue harvest-based team
  • Drives Intuitive Culture Strategy by fostering our mission, founding principles, individual and leadership expectations
  • Assists engineering with Final Manufacturing Review
  • Ensures completion of All training ISU related for associates under direct supervision
  • Completes Payroll activities for direct reports
Qualifications

Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:
  • Minimum Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor\'s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Valid driver\'s license and ability to travel between tissue processing sites daily required
  • Experience and/or education in the following areas preferred: food processing/packaging, anatomy & physiology, medical device manufacturing
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, experience driving LSS projects preferred
  • Proficient in the use of personal computers to perform daily work
  • Familiar with the Microsoft Office suite of programs
  • MRP system, SAP and Agile experience preferred
  • Bilingual - English/Spanish preferred
  • Possesses excellent communication skills, including written and verbal instruction

It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target salary ranges are listed.
