Salary Range: $44,100 - $60,000 per year (commensurate with experience)

Anticipated Start Date: ASAP

Base of Designation/Remote Eligible: Headquarters, Vermont; hybrid remote/in-person

World Learning seeks a seasoned Total Rewards Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for administering employees\' rewards, perks, and benefits. This role will assist in developing programs to improve performance, engagement, and satisfaction of our employees, benefits, and compensation administration, and HRIS/HRMS and systems-to-systems interfaces related to benefits and compensation that the organization employs. You will foster and maintain positive relationships with managers and staff at all levels of the organization to ensure effective administration, definition, and delivery of all HR-related policies, programs, and systems. This position requires frequent work with confidential information including employee information, compensation, and benefits. This position recommends process and service improvements and suggests innovative solutions. The Total Rewards Specialist has a strong systems orientation, and can work effectively with peers in tactical planning, process improvement, and implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the efficient and cost-effective administration of all benefit plans and programs, US based and international (to include medical, dental, vision, flex spending, life insurance, STD/LTD, Retirement, FMLA, paid time off, etc.)
  • Provides quality and timely customer service to employees.
  • Ensures organizational compliance with both state and federal regulatory standards for all benefit plans
  • Serves as the primary contact and liaison with plan providers and brokers
  • Participates in benefits and compensation surveys and in making recommendations that ensure World Learning offers the most cost effective and competitive benefit plans possible
  • Manages organizational wide wellness and engagement initiatives including program development, event planning, providing educational resources and opportunities for all employees and liaison with wellness representatives to ensure wellness funds are utilized appropriately
  • Coordinates service awards and annual employee recognition event
  • Ensures HR staff is appropriately trained and current on benefit plans
  • Markets benefit plans to employees and prospective candidates and participates in the education of staff by conducting benefits briefings and other regular plan informational sessions
  • Ensures HR staff is appropriately trained and current on benefit plans
  • Conducts individual and group sessions to aid employees in benefits plan selections and utilization
  • Meets with employees to educate and discuss leave of absence plans and options
  • Compiles data for routine benefit interfaces with payroll and plan providers
  • Enrolls employees in the appropriate benefits and absence plans in HRIS
  • Maintains and audits employee and plan data in HRIS, including monthly/annual absence and anniversary accruals, payroll versus monthly billing and enrollment versus payroll
  • Assists employees in submission and the correcting of timesheet data
  • Coordinates the production of requested or necessary reports on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis
  • Provides data and support to external auditors during annual retirement audit
  • Data entry of employee data to include compensation, benefits, personal data, and performance appraisals. May also include recruitment and training data.
  • HRIS report writing for recurring and specialized reporting requirements
  • Interface processing (payroll and benefit providers: ADP, CIGNA, Aetna, Delta Dental, VSP, and TIAA-CREF).
  • Data support for salary survey participation and benefit non-discrimination testing and audits.
  • Troubleshooting support for managers and employee HRIS users.
Requirements
  • B.A./ B.S. degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Working knowledge of benefit offerings and compensation programs
  • Proven PC skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS/ HRMS, specifically ADP
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to organize and prioritize tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage projects, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work with staff all levels within the organization and with a diverse employee population.
  • Knowledge of all federal, state, and local regulations and compliance requirements related to
employee benefits and compensation
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • International HR benefits experience a plus
  • Experience working in an NGO, higher educational, or nonprofit environment desired
Vaccination is strongly recommended for all employees in our U.S. offices except for those receiving medical or religious exemptions. If boosters are subsequently recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) then employees and faculty will be recommended to receive the booster within thirty (30) days of their eligibility.
