Adirondack Railway Preservation Society, Inc. - Adirondack RailroadTrack Laborer \xe2\x80\x93 Reports to Maintenance of Way Supervisor Seasonal, hourly position This is a job for people who like working outdoors. This position includes work on the inspection, repair, and maintenance activities of the railroad track and right of way operated by the Adirondack Railroad. The position is responsible for: \xc2\xb7 Repairs relating to railroad track, railroad right-of-way, culverts, and other features. \xc2\xb7 Management of vegetation control and removal within the railroad right-of-way. \xc2\xb7 Ensure repairs are documented and reported. \xc2\xb7 Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and stored in an acceptable manner. \xc2\xb7 Adhere to personal protective equipment rules. \xc2\xb7 Comply with all federal, state and railroad regulations. \xc2\xb7 Perform other tasks as required. Requirements: \xc2\xb7 High school diploma or equivalent. \xc2\xb7 Valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license, and reliable transportation. \xc2\xb7 Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 80 pounds. \xc2\xb7 Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods. Preferred, but not required Experience: \xc2\xb7 Transportation Infrastructure Construction Occupations: 1 year \xc2\xb7 Knowledge of construction methods or a related field. \xc2\xb7 A knowledge of railroad maintenance is a definite asset. \xc2\xb7 Experience with heavy equipment. \xc2\xb7 Ability to identify and use appropriate tools and related equipment. Rate of pay $17.50 - $22.00 per hour based on experience.
