Job Summary:
To transport and deliver customer goods safely, legally and on time while also providing WOW Customer Service

Job Responsibilities:
\xe2\x97\x8f Interact in a cooperative and professional manner with other team members, supervisors, customers, and vendors even in difficult situations
\xe2\x97\x8f Provide exceptional (WOW) Customer Service by building and maintaining effective communication with carriers, vendors, and internal and external customers
\xe2\x97\x8f Monitor and make an accurate account of all equipment, temperatures, and seal integrity
\xe2\x97\x8f Perform and complete pre and post trip safety inspections
\xe2\x97\x8f Safely operate and maintain equipment in compliance with Burris Logistics Transportation Department Safety & Loss Prevention Program, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMSCA) regulations and all state and federal laws
\xe2\x97\x8f Ensure all paperwork is accurate, timely and legible
\xe2\x97\x8f Ensure cargo is properly secured to prevent damage
\xe2\x97\x8f Accurate count of product prior to signing at all shipping locations or designate as \xe2\x80\x9cShipper Load and Count\xe2\x80\x9d above signature on bill of lading, ensure proper temperature setting on reefer unit
\xe2\x97\x8f Operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) only if currently trained and/or certified as required by position or as assigned by function
\xe2\x97\x8f Regular and consistent attendance
\xe2\x97\x8f Train and mentor team members if applicable
\xe2\x97\x8f Other duties as assigned

Experience and Qualifications:
\xe2\x97\x8f Must be 21 years old
\xe2\x97\x8f Education - High school diploma or GED preferred.
\xe2\x97\x8f Current valid CDL A License with ability to maintain
\xe2\x97\x8f One year of Class A tractor trailer driving experience preferred

\xe2\x97\x8f Basic knowledge and understanding of Department of Transportation (DOT) Hours of Service
\xe2\x97\x8f Basic knowledge of electronic logging systems
\xe2\x97\x8f Ability to speak, read, write and understand English in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FCMSA) regulations
\xe2\x97\x8f Ability to read with corrected or uncorrected vision
\xe2\x97\x8f Ability to perform basic math computations (add, subtract, multiply and divide) and identify/verify numbers
\xe2\x97\x8f Possess depth perception to properly operate equipment
\xe2\x97\x8f Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment
\xe2\x97\x8f Ability to accommodate flexible schedules to meet the needs of the customer( to include nights, weekends and holidays) as required \xe2\x97\x8f Ability to utilize equipment for the job (such as computer, cell phone, handheld trackers, copiers, scanners, printers, etc)
\xe2\x97\x8f Ability to travel locally, regionally and/or over-the-road for deliveries in all weather conditions as required by location and business needs

Physical Demands/Equipment:
\xe2\x97\x8f Ability to independently lift 100 lbs occasionally
\xe2\x97\x8f Must be able to sit continuously for long periods while driving
\xe2\x97\x8f Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and squat on a frequent basis while on or off loading and performing equipment inspections
\xe2\x97\x8f Must be able to step up onto and down from truck multiple times per day
\xe2\x97\x8f Ability to adjust to fluctuating temperatures and occasionally withstand freezing temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit
\xe2\x97\x8f Must be able to work in inclement weather
\xe2\x97\x8f Must be able to occasionally work in a noisy warehouse environment
\xe2\x97\x8f Must be able to work while wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as steel toed protective footwear, harness, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, insulated clothing, etc.)
\xe2\x97\x8f Ability to handle and physically be near products which may contain food allergens (such as fish, shellfish, peanuts, etc.)
