Essential Duties
The duties listed below are not all of the duties that may be assigned but are those that are considered as essential for an employee to perform.
Picks up and transports clients to and from their residences, doctor\'s offices, school facilities, shopping centers, and other authorized points utilizing automobiles and or multi-passenger vans.
Maintains accurate daily trip logs and provides necessary data for ACCESS\' accounting system as required; receives and accounts for all fares as collected daily.
Inspects vehicles prior to beginning of a route or trip and at the beginning of a work shift; Responsible for getting fuel at fueling stations or other vehicle needs at a central garage facility.
Operates radio equipment to receive or provide information.
Provides physical assistance to persons upon entering or leaving the vehicle operated; monitors and controls client\'s behavior during vehicle operation.
Ensures that all applicable safety precautions are taken during vehicle operation.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires high school diploma or GED and must be at least 18 years of age with a minimum of two years of driving experience. Must have a good driving record for the preceding two years (please indicate on application). Must be able to accept and follow instructions. A valid North Carolina Commercial Drivers License (CDL) must be obtained within three months of employment. Having a working telephone at place of residence is a necessity for this position. Must be bondable, courteous, dependable and able to relate to people of all ages and economic and ethnic backgrounds. MINIMUM PHYSICAL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds. The candidate selected must undergo and pass a drug screening test prior to employment.
