Essential Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and perform repairs to equipment and parts that are broken or damaged and not economical to replace.
  • Design, fabricate and assemble components when necessary.
  • Display the ability to learn and apply new knowledge through attendance at technical classes to advance technical capabilities.
  • Communicate effectively with site teams, other employees, and supervisor.
  • Maintain and utilize work areas, tools, and equipment to promote a clean and safe environment.
  • Support, move and load equipment and vehicles safely.
  • Work varying shifts and overtime as business needs arise.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Report any unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Maintain shop, equipment, tools, vehicle, etc. for the purpose of ensuring the availability and functioning of required items and ensuring safety.
Qualifications:
  • Certificate of technical training and/or knowledge in welding and machinery.
  • High School diploma, GED or trade school equivalent.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Minimum of two (5) years of welding experience.
  • Must meet personal tooling requirements for a welder.
  • Must have Class B CDL
  • Trained and certified to operate equipment and a lift truck.
  • Math skills for critical measurement.
  • Proficient computer technology skills, including ability to utilize company authorized software.
  • Ability to read and understand materials commonly used in the product service and maintenance function (service and parts manuals, technical bulletins, and other related articles).
  • Meet flat rate and/or estimated hours allocated for each job.
  • Applies technical knowledge through regular attendance at technical training classes.
  • Effectively participates as part of team, leading and assisting where appropriate and requesting assistance when needed.
  • Maintain welds on various items using a variety of processes (manual arc, metallic inert gas, brazing, Air Arc, etc.) (e.g. structural supports, handrails, decking, walkways, truck frames, Beds, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability and functioning of required items ensuring safety.
  • Maintain shop, equipment, tools, vehicle, etc. for the purpose of ensuring the availability and functioning of required items and ensuring safety.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of people.
  • Current MSHA p.48 metal/nonmetal certification is preferred.
  • Valid photo identification
Work Conditions:
  • Rotation of 5/4, 12-hour day shifts
  • Ability to work overtime if required.
  • Field environment with exposure to adverse weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, dust, and dirt.
  • Stand/walk 8 - 12 hours a day, and/or sit 1 - 2 hours a day.
  • Frequently lift 50 - 100 lbs.
  • Must use hands for repetitive simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation.
  • Must be able to occasionally bend, squat and climb, including the ability to ascend and descend ladders.
  • Must use feet for repetitive movement when operating equipment controls.
  • Must have agility and balance to safely climb on all machines.
