The Tribe does not have a reservation in the classic definition; rather, the Ponca Restoration Act defined its jurisdiction as a \'Service Delivery Area\' comprised of 15 counties throughout parts of Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota. Within its Service Delivery Area, the Tribe offers a broad range of health, social, educational and cultural services.The primary purpose of this position is to address emergency preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation efforts for the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska\'s 15 county service area. This position will also address emergency response and recovery impacting members that reside outside the service delivery area as directed by the CEO of Tribal Affairs. The position will serve as the subject matter expert for the Ponca Tribe as it relates to federal, state, and local emergency management activities and funding. This position is responsible for the development, maintenance, implementation, and operational management of the Ponca Tribal Emergency Management Plan, the Hazard Mitigation Plan, and other emergency services or safety plans.Essential Responsibilities and Duties: * Prepare plans and procedures for responding to natural disasters or other emergencies that may impact the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska. Reviews, and edits plans and procedures, and evaluates existing programs as needed, ensuring plans conform with Federal requirements and regulations.
