Job Description

Located approximately 26 miles from the City of Fairbanks, Fort Knox is a centre of excellence for the Company as one of the few cold weather heap leach facilities in the world. Fort Knox in 2021, and has produced over 8.5 million ounces since it began operation. In 2020, Kinross acquired Manh Choh - a project expected to commence production in 2024 and process ore at Fort Knox.

Fort Knox prioritizes being a strong contributor to the State and local communities, and since 2001, has helped support more than 300 community partners and has contributed more than US$25 million to the Alaska Mental Health Trust.



Working under general supervision, perform a variety of tasks; receive, unpack, check, and store merchandise or materials; operate lift equipment; fill requisitions and orders; pack, crate, and ship materials as needed; and keeping a clean and safe work environment.

Job Responsibilities

\xe2\xa6\x81 Responsible for all tasks related to the receiving, issuing, and shipping of parts and materials.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Perform various material handling duties at site.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Remove strapping and open crates and containers.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area while following 5S Standards.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Operate forklift routinely.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Punctuality and regular attendance is required.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Meet or exceed established performance expectations set by management.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Compliance with all company policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, safety, confidentiality, and environmental policies.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Possession of a valid driver\'s license issued by the state.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Work safely in all areas; identify potential safety hazards and work with management to correct them.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Work without significant risk of harm to self and others.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Perform other duties as required.

Education and Experience

\xe2\xa6\x81 High school diploma or equivalent required.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Minimum of 2-3 years of warehouse or inventory control experience preferred; heavy equipment with material handling and distribution experience desirable.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Basic knowledge of JDE or similar ERP system is desirable.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Basic knowledge of shipping in addition to warehouse procedures and regulations preferred.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Previous knowledge of mining equipment and parts preferred.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Must be dedicated to customer service.
