Location: Socorro, New Mexico
Salary Range: $48,500 - $70,400/year depending on experience
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for planning and organizing safe and effective operations of the EarthScope Primary Instrument Center (EPIC) warehouse in Socorro, New Mexico, including preventative and corrective maintenance of plant and building functions, and executing shipping and receiving. Accountable for Government Property, company-owned Property and the Instrumentation, Engagement and Administrative inventory on behalf of the organization.
The successful candidate will have experience in warehouse management and operations and the coordination, tracking and movement of multi-million-dollar inventories including high value technical scientific instrumentation. This is more than a fulfillment operation but will require interactions with the engineering staff and the research community to assure equipment is moved domestically and internationally in a timely, secure, and accountable manner and then returned into inventory as experiments end. This includes the occasional movement of dangerous goods (lithium batteries), so IATA certification is a plus. This position will supervise a warehouse team including 2 permanent staff and a team of temporary and transient student hires from the New Mexico Tech campus. This position will report to the lead logistics manager for the EPIC.
