Basic Function: To direct the movement of inventory into, through, and out of the distribution center in a manner that meets service level expectations.

Essential Functions:

• Reviews sales orders and assigns orders to order pickers.
• Coordinates outbound freight.

• Determines best shipping method and carrier for shipments.
• Follows vendor routing guides to comply with customers\xe2\x80\x99 requirements.
• Creates BOL\xe2\x80\x99s and contacts carriers to schedule pickups.

• Acts as a liaison with purchasing to coordinate inbound freight.
• Develops, communicates, and monitors freight programs.
• Monitors day-to-day order flow in warehouse and coordinates with supervisor and area leaders to allocate labor/equipment resources appropriately to meet company service goals.
• Keeps supervisor informed of significant developments, changes and fulfills any other responsibilities necessary to ensure that open and direct lines of communication are established and maintained with all warehouse employees.
• Performs related work as apparent or assigned.
• Attends training as determined from GNE.

Secondary Functions:

• Performs day to day tasks as needed in overflow/staff absence situations.

Qualifications and Experience:

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of general warehouse experience.
• 1+ year of experience with LTL and small package shipments.
• Strong people skills with ability to relate to people\'s needs and concerns while still being able to accomplish the Company\'s goals.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Must exhibit strong leadership and sound decision-making qualities.
• Solid PC skills, spreadsheet development abilities and working knowledge of designated software.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a wide variety of Company personnel and others.
• Knowledge and/or experience with safety training and compliance (forklift, OSHA).

Preferred

• Experience with high Sku count and multiple divisions and warehouse zones strongly preferred.
• First aid/CPR certification

Machines/Equipment: In the normal course of performing the duties of this position a phone, personal computer, printer, radio frequency equipment, forklift, pallet jack, and foam machine, will be used.

• Frequently required to sit, use hands to handle objects, talk and hear.
• Frequent wrist and/or hand movement is required.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 70 lbs.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
• Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, reaching and lifting.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

• Warehouse: Warehouse setting is partially climate controlled and the noise level is usually moderate. Employees may be regularly exposed to forklift, foaming and cutting equipment.
