Job Summary:

The Warehouse Worker assists the Warehouse Lead with paper and coverstock handling. This employee is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the forklift trucks, and will move stock as instructed within warehouse facilities; load and unload delivery trucks; keep daily records; and help with periodic inventory. Schedule is Monday - Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Responsibilities include:

• Performing job duties and conducting self in accordance with Sheridan and CJK Group core values in alignment with Companys Vision.
• Moving paper to maintain age abate system.
• Cutting paper as needed. (Must operate paper cutters and change cutter knives.)
• Receiving paper upon delivery.
• Stocking press floor with working inventory as instructed.
• Maintaining a clean and organized warehouse and other work areas.
• Initiating damage paper claims with paper vendors for credits.
• Working with press operators on paper changes (irregular paper).
• Figuring amount of stock needed for jobs on presses.
• Keeping daily records of inventory, including inventory of non-working stock.
• Ordering paper to maintain working inventory.
• Entering amounts of paper used for each job into paradox for up to date records.
• Working with Account Managers on stock for jobs (samples of new stock).
• Working with paper salesperson on availability of stock.
• Handling claims on damaged paper.
• Scheduling pick up for recycling of waste paper.
• Scheduling maintenance of truck and other maintenance needs.
• Ensuring that lifts are charged and ready to go for the next days usage.
• Performing weekly inventory counts as instructed.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and follow instructions.
• Good math skills are essential.
• Knowledge of paper types.
• Good planning and organizational skills to manage work flow.
• Ability to work with limited supervision.
• Ability to communicate and work closely with others.
• Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned.
• Good safety practices, ability to understand and follow established safety procedures.
• Knowledge of use of fork lift, pallet jack, and paper cutters.
• Ability to be licensed to operate a 16-ton truck. Drug testing required for licensing.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Desired Skills:

• Prior Warehouse experience.
• Prior Printing/Paper industry experience.

Physical Requirements :

• Ability to exert 25 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently to move objects.
• Ability to communicate with and respond to coworkers and outside vendors in a clear and professional manner.
• Ability to sit, walk, bend, stand, lift, and reach (overhead and lateral).
• Ability to work in an environment without direct climate control.
• Drug testing required for licensing.
• Must qualify to operate a commercial motor vehicle in the State of Kansas (no CDL required).
