Warehouse workers are responsible for performing various tasks to ensure the smooth operation of a warehouse or distribution center. They handle incoming and outgoing shipments, maintain inventory accuracy, and assist in fulfilling customer orders. Key Responsibilities: Receive incoming shipments of materials, supplies, and products. Unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or by hand. Verify the accuracy of shipments and inspect items for damage or defects. Organize and store inventory in designated locations within the warehouse. Maintain accurate inventory records using computerized systems or manual logs. Perform regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies. Pick items from warehouse shelves or storage areas according to picking instructions or customer orders. Pack items securely for shipment, ensuring proper packaging and labeling. Prepare outgoing shipments for delivery to customers or other locations. Load trucks with outgoing shipments, ensuring proper stacking and securing of items to prevent damage during transit. Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for damage, defects, or discrepancies. Report any issues to supervisors and take appropriate corrective actions as needed. Keep the warehouse clean and organized, including sweeping floors, removing debris, and organizing storage areas. Perform basic maintenance tasks on equipment and report any maintenance issues to supervisors. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Follow proper procedures for handling materials, operating equipment, and working in potentially hazardous areas. Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, shipping and receiving activities, and other warehouse-related tasks. Enter data into computerized systems, complete paperwork, and generate reports as needed. Work collaboratively with supervisors, fellow warehouse workers, and other departments to meet operational goals and deadlines. Communicate effectively and assist team members as needed to ensure smooth workflow and productivity. Be willing to perform various tasks and adapt to changing priorities or workload demands as needed to support the overall operation of the warehouse. Qualifications and Skills: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in warehouse or logistics preferred but not required. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and operate material handling equipment safely. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Basic math and computer skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to strict safety protocols.
