Warehouse workers are integral team members responsible for various tasks within a warehouse or distribution center. They play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient handling of goods and materials, contributing to the overall success of the warehouse operation. Key Responsibilities: Receive incoming shipments of goods, materials, and products. Unload trucks using manual labor, forklifts, or pallet jacks. Verify the accuracy of received items and inspect them for damage or defects. Organize and store inventory in designated locations within the warehouse. Maintain accurate inventory records using computerized systems or manual logs. Conduct periodic inventory counts and assist in reconciling discrepancies. Retrieve items from warehouse shelves or storage areas based on pick lists or customer orders. Ensure accuracy in item selection, quantity, and condition. Prepare items for packing and shipping. Pack picked items securely and appropriately for shipment. Use packaging materials such as boxes, bubble wrap, and tape as needed. Apply shipping labels, barcodes, or other identifiers to packages. Inspect items for damage, defects, or discrepancies during receiving, picking, and packing. Report any issues to supervisors and assist in resolving quality-related concerns. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the warehouse, including aisles, storage areas, and workstations. Dispose of packaging materials and waste properly. Assist in basic maintenance tasks and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards. Adhere to safety protocols, procedures, and guidelines at all times. Participate in safety training sessions and contribute to a culture of safety awareness. Record receiving, picking, packing, and shipping activities accurately. Enter data into computerized systems or complete paperwork as required. Generate reports and provide information to supervisors as needed. Work collaboratively with supervisors, co-workers, and other departments to achieve common goals. Communicate effectively and assist team members as necessary to maintain workflow and productivity. Qualifications and Skills: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in warehousing, logistics, or a related field preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in tasks such as counting, sorting, and inspecting. Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and calculating inventory quantities. Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions effectively. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
