Water Distribution Level I Operator
Job Description
The City of Groton has an opening in our Utilities Department. Groton Utilities is a leader in Southeastern Connecticut, providing electric, water, and other services with exceptional customer service, value and quality. We are currently searching for a Water Distribution Operator (Level I , Class I). Work is performed in compliance with applicable Federal and State regulations. Qualifications for a Level I Operator include a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid commercial driver\xe2\x80\x99s license class B (must be obtained within 18 months of hire), basic knowledge of water distribution system, CT State DPH Water Distribution Class I Operator\xe2\x80\x99s License \xe2\x80\x93 12 month or 24 months (not required to start), basic knowledge in mathematics, mechanical training and computer experience. Starting pay rate is $29.65 \xe2\x80\x93 $33.11) dependent on skills, education and experience. Pre-employment physical exam including drug screen, background check and references are required.
