Qualifications: OPERATOR - WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY An Oregon Wastewater Operator Certification Level I Experience operating a wastewater treatment facility Experience with sound safety principles and practices Experience with computer operations with the ability to prepare spreadsheets and word processing documents, and enter information into a maintenance management system Possess a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license A positive attitude, good work ethic, and the willingness to learn Responsibilities:
- Perform daily plant rounds to assess the proper operation of equipment and treatment process. Maintain an accurate logbook of all operational activities. Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment. Assist maintenance with major repairs. Collect process and permit samples to run analyses and interpret results. Engage with potentially hazardous matrices including wastewater and solids. Learn advanced laboratory nutrient analysis. Earn an apprentice herbicide applicator license to help control noxious weeds. Pursue higher levels of Oregon Wastewater Operator certification. Work outdoors on rough terrain in the summertime making irrigation system repairs. Carry a 24/7 on-call phone for seven consecutive days in a rotating schedule. Respond to emergency events as necessary. Staff the facility beyond normal hours during \xe2\x80\x98high flow\xe2\x80\x99 conditions. Make sound process changes based on treatment performance, weather patterns etc. Maintain facility appearance, mowing lawns, raking leaves, painting etc. Conduct pretreatment inspections of local businesses as required. If appropriately licensed: Apply biosolids to local fields using tanker and slinger trucks.
