POSITION DESCRIPTION:


The Resort PBX Operator is responsible for efficiently handling all incoming calls, guest requests, and internal communications within the resort. This role ensures a high level of guest satisfaction by providing prompt and courteous service, accurate information, and effective communication with other departments.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Answer all incoming calls promptly and courteously. Direct calls to the appropriate departments or individuals. Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints efficiently and professionally. Provide information on resort amenities, services, and local attractions. Assist guests with wake-up calls, message delivery, and other telephone-related services. Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to fulfill guest requests. Facilitate communication between various departments to ensure smooth operations. Maintain a log of guest requests, issues, and follow-ups to ensure timely resolution. Notify security or management of any emergencies or unusual occurrences. Update and maintain the resort's telephone directory and other relevant information. Perform basic clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and document preparation. Assist with the preparation of reports and other administrative tasks as needed. Operate the resort's PBX (Private Branch Exchange) system and other communication equipment. Troubleshoot and report any issues with the PBX system or other communication tools. Stay updated on the latest communication technology and best practices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED 1 year experience as an operator Previous experience as a PBX operator or in a similar role within the hospitality industry is preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in using PBX systems, computers, and other office equipment. Ability to sit for extended periods and use a headset and computer. Ability to handle stress and remain calm under pressure. The work environment is primarily within an office setting, with some exposure to the operational areas of the resort. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
