The accredited Rice Lake Welding Department has been providing quality services with an industry leading turnaround time for more than two decades. We are currently seeking a Welder to join our experienced Rough Decks and Mount team.

Job Overview

Rice Lake Weighing Systems has been a successful, growth-oriented company known as a leader in the weighing industry and our community. We are currently seeking a Welder to join our dedicated Rough Decks and Mounts Department on first shift. Our welders perform MIG welding with flux core and solid wire to ensure high quality products while following safe work practices.

Duties & Responsibilities

Some of your duties may include:

• Operating carbon air-arc, pencil grinders, disk grinders, cutoff wheel and other hand tools
• Layout and fit various parts and assemblies
• Welding in a variety of positions such as flat, vertical, horizonal and overhead
• Effectively read manufacturing documents like blueprints and routings
• Keep an organized, clean and safe work area in a fast-paced environment

You\xe2\x80\x99ll also need to be able to:

• Frequently bend, crouch, and reach during shifts
• Regularly lift up to 50 pounds
• Occasionally operate a forklift, overhead crane or other lift equipment

• Safety: Your safety is important to us, so we provide personal protective equipment, including welding jackets, gloves, welding hood lenses. Welding helmets are your responsibility.
• Surroundings: You\xe2\x80\x99ll be working in a manufacturing facility around moving equipment like forklifts, overhead cranes and other machines.
• Activity: Some activities may require climbing onto the module or working under a fixture.
• Temperature: The temperatures in manufacturing vary depending on the season.
• Noise level: It can get loud. We provide hearing protection for you.
• Dress code: Relaxed, with a few rules to follow for safety. Composite or steel-toe boots that cover the ankles are required. RLWS reimburses 50% for safety shoes once per year.

Requirements

Qualified candidates will have a welding degree or two (2) or more years of welding in a manufacturing setting along with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines.
