Job Summary and Qualifications

The Physical Therapist (PT) provides high-quality, patient-centered care by managing the complete process of therapeutic care of an assigned group of patients in coordination with the physician and the patient care team. The Physical Therapist completes patient assessments and participates in developing and implementing individualized care plans focusing on goal achievement, patient engagement, and positive patient experience. The Physical Therapist provides or directs a majority of the patient\xe2\x80\x99s physical therapy to support patients throughout the continuum of care.

\xc2\xb7 You will be responsible for evaluation, planning, directing and administering physical therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician.

\xc2\xb7 You will be responsible for understanding current treatment philosophy and procedures and documenting treatments in a compliant manner.

\xc2\xb7 You will assist patients in reaching their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities.

\xc2\xb7 You will instruct and supervise Students, Physical Therapy Assistants and Physical Therapy Aides in the proper handling and treatment of assigned patients.

\xc2\xb7 You will participate in operational aspects of the department, including performance improvement activities within the department and CQI activities.

\xc2\xb7 You will attend staff and other meetings and participate in unit committees, such as education, quality improvement, etc.

\xc2\xb7 You will maintain up-to-date knowledge of trends in physical therapy and participate in program development, development of new procedures, service lines, and changes as needed.

Qualifications:

\xc2\xb7 Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.

\xc2\xb7 Current State of Alaska Physical Therapist license.

\xc2\xb7 American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support

Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification

\xc2\xb7 Acute and Rehabilitation experience of one year is preferred.
