The City of Lexington is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual for Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator who will assist the WWTP Superintendent in all matters concerning wastewater treatment, system improvements and needs, and other areas as designated by the City Manager.
Examples of Duties
The WWTP Operator assists in the daily routine operation and maintenance of the WWTP. This would include record keeping, opening and shutting valves, inspection and maintenance of equipment, cleaning buildings, grounds, tanks, and sampling equipment. This individual will have knowledge of industrial pumps, valves, process equipment as well as ability to use tools necessary to maintain and repair WWTP facilities. This individual would have basic computer skills, and knowledge of basic science and math.
Typical Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Valid Nebraska Driver\'s License with good driving record
Wastewater Operator Certification preferred but will work with the right individual to become certified within a year.
