Description of WorkWe are seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Homelessness Lived Experience Coordinator. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the challenges faced by youth experiencing homelessness. This role will work to develop, recruit, and establish youth action boards at multiple levels across the state. The position will also serve as a vital link between system partners and youth experiencing homelessness, advocating for their needs to inform and enhance Nebraska\'s youth homelessness service system.The University of Nebraska-Lincoln seeks to attract and retain a high performing and diverse workforce in which employees\' differences are respected and valued to better meet the varying needs of the diverse populations we serve. Minimum Required QualificationsHigh School or equivalent experience required. Must have lived experience of homelessness during youth (ages 14-24) or experience demonstrating in-depth knowledge and facilitation of preventing and ending youth homelessness. Passion for supporting and empowering young people facing homelessness. Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate personal experiences to influence positive change. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build relationships with diverse stakeholders. Some travel within Nebraska may be required, travel expenses will be reimbursed. Must have a valid driver\'s license and meet University driver eligibility requirements.
Preferred QualificationsBachelor\'s Degree in field closely related to work. Previous experience participating in a YAB or other related Lived Experience Board/s. Experience in advocacy or community organizing related to homelessness or social justice issues. Knowledge of local resources and services available to homeless youth. Lived experience of homelessness during youth (ages 14-24). Understanding of trauma-informed care principles and their application in supporting youth.Pre-Placement Driving Record Review Required Yes

Posted Salary $45,000/yr. minimum
