About your role: As our Peer Support Specialist, you will work with youth who are receiving services focused on their mental health diagnoses and in need of a knowledgeable mentor support to provide guidance. In this role, you will offer your own story of mental health services and recovery, help clients manage their diagnoses, and navigate peer relationship and various life transitions. You will work as part of our Behavioral Health Home team and receive meaningful supervision to aid in your own professional growth. Our Youth Peer Support Specialist must be aged 18-29, however, our Adult Peer Support Specialist role allows 18 and older.

What we are looking for:

• Must meet one of these:

• CIPSS for YOUTH (Certified Intentional Peer Support Services) certification and training- preferred.
• Apply for Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist training, to be certified within 9 months of hire as CIPSS:

• In-person paid training 8 hours/week for 8 weeks
• Online paid training 4.5 hours/week for 12 weeks
• 18-29 years of age (Per Maine requirements for this role)
• Receiving/received services for mental illness diagnoses (PTSD, Anxiety, ADHD, Depression, etc) and in recovery. Candidate must be willing to self-identify with clients to aid in their growth.
• Valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license in good standing (record will be verified through Maine DMV)
• Background check through Department of Human Services of Maine
