Job Objective & Safety/Security Sensitive Designation
JOB OBJECTIVE: To perform technical and clinical procedures, to include diagnostic tests, blood draws, radiographs, vaccinations and other related procedures, in the health care of animals under the supervision of the Veterinarian at the Little Rock Zoo; maintains Zoo hospital facility and hospital equipment to ensure hospital is properly set up and supplied for medical procedures in compliance with American Zoological Association (AZA) standards.
This position is designated as a safety/security sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol screening.

PART TIME POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of an Associate\'s degree in Veterinary Technology or a related area from an institution accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association; and two (2) years of experience as a Veterinary Technician involving work with exotic animals. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
FULL TIME POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Completion of an Associate\'s degree in Veterinary Technology or a related area from an institution accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association; and four (4) years of work experience as a Veterinary Technician involving work with exotic animals or related area. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
